Dana, 49, went from working 9 hours a day for 6 days a week through a staffing agency to not at all. "I'm lucky if I get a job twice a week for maybe $80 a day. I can't get a job anywhere." Dana said. "I don't know how I'm going to pay my rent."
Dana is one of the many being affected by the rapid changes COVID-19 is bringing to our community. "It's been a struggle. I live paycheck to paycheck. If we go on lockdown, there is no way I would last another month with all the people in my house." He took in 3 friends from the homeless shelter who were afraid of falling ill. "I can't say no to my neighbor," he said.
"It is important to give at this time if you have extra because there are people like me who don't have anything. If it wasn't for Heartland Hope Mission, I wouldn't have this food today." - Dana
