Omaha, NE, Heartland Hope Mission has a full-service pantry open twice a month in Millard located at 5321 South 139th Plaza. Families in need can receive a week's supply of food the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10:30 a.m-11:30 a.m. and the last Wednesday of the month from 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
A 2016 report shows that eight Millard Public Schools have 40% or more students who receive free or reduced lunch.
In 2018, Heartland Hope expanded their Millard pantry hours to twice a month to serve clients. As a result, 51% more pantries were distributed at that location in 2018 over 2017.
About Heartland Hope Mission
At Heartland Hope Mission's South Omaha and Millard food pantries, working poor families choose a week's supply of nutritious groceries including: milk, frozen meat, and fresh produce to prepare well-balanced meals at home. Clients also receive: clothing, hygiene items, diapers, and access to a client service specialist, who assists with SNAP (food stamp) applications and navigational services.
