Annual Food Drive Essential to Meet Growing Need

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 12, 2020 Omaha, NE, Heartland Hope Mission- Heartland Hope Mission is partnering with Hy-Vee for their largest annual food drive event, Stuff a Truck. Customers at all Omaha area (including Papillion) Hy-Vee grocery stores can donate $5 or $10 to purchase prepacked bags of food to help families in need this holiday season. This food drive is essential to meet the increase of clients in need of a food pantry. In Council Bluffs, food donations will go to Micah house.

The holidays are the busiest season for Heartland Hope Mission, and they anticipate serving over 65,000 people this year (a 40% increase from last year) because of the pandemic. Donations from the Stuff a Truck food drive will help provide a holiday meal and hygiene items to local families struggling to make ends meet.

“The food drive this year is especially important as it will help stock our food shelves going into the busy holiday season. This is an easy way to help families in need this Thanksgiving and Christmas.” -Pastor Chelsea Salifou, CEO
