At Heartland Hope Mission, we realize that food insecurity is often a symptom of a larger problem. Our organization provides employment resources, assistance with applying for SNAP and community referrals to help our clients rise above poverty and economic crisis.
Homelessness and Hunger Prevention Program
Our Homelessness and Hunger Prevention Program provides assistance in the form of a week’s supply of food, as well as clothing, personal hygiene products and household items to needy individuals and families in the Omaha metropolitan area. All persons completing a request for first-time assistance are eligible to receive services. Screening for other assistance programs is available for applicants.
The ability to earn a living wage is critical to families becoming self-sufficient. Our Job Paths program works to help clients overcome barriers to employment and find job, training or education opportunities. Heartland Hope Mission invites several businesses that are in high demand of employees, to come to our facility and provide employment information for clients. On-site interviews are conducted and help with the application process is provided.
