Programs
At Heartland Hope Mission, we realize that food insecurity is often a symptom of a larger problem. Our organization provides employment resources, assistance with applying for SNAP and community referrals to help our clients rise above poverty and economic crisis.
Homelessness and Hunger Prevention Program
Our Homelessness and Hunger Prevention Program provides assistance in the form of a week’s supply of food, clothing, diapers, personal hygiene products and household items to individuals and families in need within the Omaha metropolitan area. All persons completing a request for first-time assistance are eligible to receive services. Screening for other assistance programs is available for applicants.
Job Paths
The most requested need expressed by our clients is for employment, whether that be finding a job, needing a higher paying job or for supplemental income. Through our Job Paths Program, clients have access to an up-to-date jobs board and computers for online job searches and applications. We host agencies which offer clients employment resources, as well as local employers who come on site during pantry times to interview clients, provide application assistance or provide information about open positions.
Holiday Assistance
At Thanksgiving, Heartland Hope Mission provides families with a turkey or ham and all the fixings for a holiday feast. At our Christmas in South O, parents can register to receive brand new toys for their children, along with wrapping paper, stocking stuffers and a holiday meal pantry.
